Dark, ripe cherry in colour with complex aromas of blackcurrant, caramel, vanilla, liquorice and hints of nut on the nose. The palate is soft and velvety with prominent berry and liquorice flavours, ending in almost sweet French oak-initiated caramel.

Red meat, especially venison is recommended.

ageing : Enjoy now, or within 3 to 4 years from harvest.

in the vineyard : Trellised, 7- to 12-year-old vines planted against northeast-facing slopes yielded the grapes for this wine. The vineyards received supplementary drip irrigation and produced 6 tons per hectare.

about the harvest: The grapes were hand-picked at optimum ripeness, gently crushed and cooled down to 12 C before cold-soaking.
