The wine is crimson red with a cherry-berry coloured rim. Pronounced aromas of black currant, chocolate and mint are complemented by earthy tones. The soft, inviting palate rewards with mint and fruit flavours and the wine is well structured with firm acid and a broad mouthfeel.

ageing : Enjoy now, or within 8 to 11 years from harvest.

in the vineyard : Trellised vines that are between 10 and 15 years old and planted on southwest-facing slopes yielded the grapes for this wine. The vineyards received supplementary drip irrigation and produced 7 tons per hectare.

about the harvest: Specially selected vineyards, tanks and barrels ensured the fine quality of this wine. The grapes were hand-picked at 25 Balling, gently crushed, cooled down to 12 Celsius and cold-soaked.

in the cellar : The grapes were gently crushed, cooled down to 12 Celsius and cold-soaked. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks allowed for the maximum extraction of the important components and was followed by barrel-fermentation to add structure, flavour and elegance. Fourteen months in French and American oak barrels.
