The grapes were picked from vines planted in 1992 in deep, red Tukulu soils in south-facing vineyards situated 170 metres above sea level. The vineyard, known as “Weisser on the hillside” received no irrigation.

about the harvest: This Veritas gold winner was made from grapes affected by botrytis cinerea, hand-picked at 29º Balling in March.

in the cellar : The winemaking (winemaker: De Wet Viljoen)
The juice was fermented at 13º to 14ºC over 18 days with just 24 hours’ skin contact. No malolactic fermentation was allowed. The wine was stablised and bottled in June.
