The wine is dark, black cherry in colour with a youthful purple edge. Soft cherry fruit aromas mingle with whiffs of toasty spice, tobacco and smoked banana and the fruit follows through on the soft, succulent palate. A stylish wine with a lingering finish.

Chicken, lamb and game dishes are recommended.

in the vineyard : CLIMATE: Average Temperature: Summer - 20ÂºC, Winter - 14ÂºC

Viticulture: Trellised, 6-year-old vines planted on northeast-facing slopes yielded the grapes for this wine. The vineyards received supplementary drip irrigation and produced 8 tons per hectare.

about the harvest: Grapes from selected vineyard blocks were hand-harvested at 25.5Â° Balling and carefully sorted prior to de-stemming.

in the cellar : The berries were gently crushed and cooled down to 10 to 12Â°C. Cold soaking preceded temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation was completed in oak barrels. Maturation in a combination of French and American oak barrels broadened the flavours and added complexity and finesse. The wines from specially selected barrels were then blended to create this ultra premium wine.
