Dark red, clear and brilliant. Smoky spices, with chocolate and cigar box flavours. Mouthfilling, peppery fruit. A good follow-through and aftertaste, with well-balanced acidity.

ageing : The wine will mature into the next century, probably reaching its peak in 2001, although already very accessable.
in the cellar : After destalking, the free-run juice and berries are inoculated with specially selected yeast strains to start fermentation. The juice ferments on the skins until the wine maker decides that the correct colour intensity and tannin concentration have been reached, after which the wine is drawn off and the skins pressed to complete fermentation in stainless steel containers.
