La Bri Viognier 2008

Elegant and poised. A delicate varietal perfume of white pears, blossoms, litchi and apricots comes through on the nose. The mouth feel is crisp with hints of pink grapefruit and passion fruit. A well balanced wine that leaves a fresh, clean finish on the palate.

about the harvest: The grapes were hand-picked at about 25° B from the La Bri farm.

in the cellar : After harvesting the grapes were carefully sorted on bunch and berry sorting tables, then crushed and pressed to tank (no skin contact) where they were left to settle overnight. The must was then racked off the gross lees to barrel: 2x225 - (both French oak, one new and one second fill) and then inoculated. After fermentation the wine was left on the fine lees for about 1 month, no malolactic fermentation took place. The wine spent a total of 4 months in barrel before bottling.
