Villiera Cellar Door Chenin Blanc 2007

The 2007 vintage was well suited to the production of a rich wooded style of Chenin Blanc. For greater complexity we selected fruit from two of our best Chenin Blanc vineyards. The fruit was picked fully ripe to ensure soft acidity and a rich tropical character with hints of citrus and pineapple.

    ageing : This wine should last for at least four years from vintage
    in the vineyard : Our aim is to reflect the specific character of the 'terroir', as well as the unique characteristics of each vintage in our wines. We also commit ourselves to ongoing quality improvement in the vineyard.

    In 2001 we introduced our 'Cellardoor' concept to indicate limited release wines of exceptional quality. The 'Cellardoor' label is unique and obviously relates to special and unique wine.

    about the harvest: For greater complexity we selected fully ripe fruit from two of our best Chenin Blanc vineyards.
    in the cellar : The powerful structure was also designed to cope with extended barrel maturation for five months. During this time the wine remained "sur lie" and regular "batonage" was performed. The result is a blockbuster Chenin Blanc with great ageing potential.
