Colour: Brilliant pale straw with a golden tinge
Nose: A complex mélange of tropical fruits - ripe guava, gooseberry and pineapple, with underlying notes of citrus and capsicum .
Palette: Tropical fruits dominate the palate, rounded off with a touch of minerality. Crisp and fresh, yet full-bodied, with a lingering aftertaste of ripe guava.

The Runner Duck White is the newest addition to the Vergenoegd range – also the first white wine ever on our range. If you need to ruffle your feathers, this crisp wine with its tropical fruits and flavours of guava and gooseberry, fits the bill.

This wine will go well with all lunchtime favourites, such as salads, sushi and light pasta dishes. An excellent accompaniment to fish dishes and, of course grilled shellfish.

in the vineyard : The Runner Duck range was created with one thing in mind: enjoyment. Young and sexy, but by no means frivolous, these playfully elegant wines should be enjoyed often in relaxed surroundings. The wines are produced by skillfully selecting and blending different building blocks to create wines that are easy-drinking, yet have sufficient complexity and character to create an excitement for the senses as well as to accompany a good plate of food. Those of you that have visited Vergenoegd will of course have seen our 500 strong flock of Indian Runner Ducks that daily forage for snails in our vineyards and march past our Restaurant on their way back home. The wines in this range have been named in honour of these hardworking ducks, who contribute towards our aim to implement more environmentally friendly farming practices.

in the cellar : Grapes are hand-sorted prior to destemming and crushing, then cold-fermented with selected yeast strains and left on it’s fermentation lees for 3 months. A careful blending of the various Sauvignon blanc components then follows.
