in the vineyard : This is the first Shiraz which was made under the Kloovenburg label. This wine was made from the new “1A” clone.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested in February, the residual sugar averaged 25.4º Balling and the total acidity was measured at 5.5 grams/liter.

in the cellar : The wine was aged for 12 months in new American Oak barrels. Pieter believes that Shiraz will do extremely well on Kloovenburg, because of the terrior of the farm. That’s why he claimed that “this is Shiraz country”.
