in the vineyard :  A single vineyard wine. The roots of the vines are nestled amongst round sandstone and quartzite boulders and only the free run juice is used for the Travelling Stone. The East-western row direction of the vines guarantees the best possible contact with cooling breezes. This vineyard has the coolest night temperature on the estate.

The Story
Round Sandstone and Quartzite boulders came rolling from the mountains higher up in the valley, down the Breede River and settled on the southern part of Weltevrede Estate. Sauvignon Blanc thrives on this terroir that came travelling from far away.
