Meinert Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 1998

Dense brick-red/black colour. Spicy wild-berry and lead pencil whiffs with underlying chocolate tones. A massive wine from excellent year that yielded ripe grapes. The firm yet integrated tannins and favourable balance should ensure that this wine lasts about 15 years. Drink from late 2001 onwards. Best decanted if drunk while still young. Serve with rich meat dishes like game or beef with a wine reduction sauce or wild mushrooms.
