A full-bodied wine with a deep purple colour. The nose is reminiscent of plums and ripe bananas, which is typical of this unique South African variety.

in the vineyard : 25 Year old bush vines planted on a North-west facing slope at about 360m above sea level.

about the harvest: Harvested on the 19th of February 1999 at 4.1 tonnes per hectare. The grapes were brought in at 24.4° Balling.

in the cellar : Fermented for approximately 4 days in closed tanks.
Partially aged in small French-oak barrels.
Limited filtration and no stabilization was used prior to bottling which took place on the 23rd of November 1999 on the estate.
