Mooiplaas Pinotage 1998

This is a full-bodied wine with a deep purple colour. The nose is reminiscent of plums, which is typical of this unique South African variety, while the palate is rich and full with a long finish.

about the harvest: Harvested on the 17th and 18th of February 1998 at 8.8 tonnes per hectare. The grapes were brought in 25.8Âº Balling.

in the cellar : Fermentation took place for approximately 3 days in traditional open vats called â€œkuipeâ€. The cap punched by hand.
The wine was matured partially in small French barrels and bottling took place at the estate on the 9th of September 1998.
