in the vineyard : The 2009 vintage was an exceptional year due to the perfect conditions throughout the season. Warm rain free weather just before harvest helped with the complete ripening of grapes.

about the harvest: From a single vineyard on Delaire Graff Estate, the grapes were handpicked in the fresh hours of the early morning from Delaire mountain vineyards.

in the cellar : From our oldest vineyards, the Merlot was vinified with care and passion. Extensive sorting of the grapes formed part of the quality management process. The grapes were de-stemmed only, not crushed, to ensure gentle extraction of fruit flavours. Matured for 15 months in French Oak barrels.
