in the vineyard : The 2011 conditions, although exceptionally dry and warm, resulted in grapes with beautifully concentrated flavours. Yields were down, but winemakers were generally pleased with the quality of the grapes.

about the harvest: The Shiraz grapes where 100% hand picked in the refreshing hours of the early morning from a selection of cool vineyard sites in the Stellenbosch region.

in the cellar : Matured for 12 months in older French and American oak barrels to maintain the lovely freshness of this varietal. Fermentation took place at cooler temperatures to ensure gentle extraction of fruit flavours.
