Allesverloren Tinta Barocca 1997

The result is a wine with an intense ruby colour. It has a clean and fruity nose with a scent of wood and vanilla. The wine is well balanced with good harmony berry fruit and oak and excellent maturation potential.

AWARDS
The South African Trophy Wine Show 2002 - Bronze
in the vineyard : The grapes came from trellised vineyards situated at 140 metres above sea level. It was planted between 1957 and 1996 and faces south east. The vines were cultivated under dryland conditions.

about the harvest: The grapes were picked by hand at 24.2ºBalling from 24 to 28 February.

in the cellar : In the cellar the juice fermented on the skins for 5 to 7 days at 25ºC. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in wood for 19 months - 30% in new French oak, 3% in new American oak and 67% in third fill casks.
