Leopards Leap Pinotage Shiraz 2016

An authentic South African New World blend that is fruit-driven and full-bodied. A unique blend of blackcurrent, ripe plum and spice beautifully balanced by a touch of toastiness from the oak. An array of complex flavours that settle with deeper notes of pepper, mocha and dark fruit. A firm structure ushers in a memorable finish.

Pair with richly flavoured pork and duck dishes.

in the vineyard : Grapes were selected from areas most ideal for growing both varietals, namely Swartland and Paarl.
about the harvest: Picked at optimal fruit ripeness.
in the cellar : Sorted, de-stemmed, crushed, cold-soaked and fermented at 28 °C with regular pump-overs and punch downs.
Maturation: The Pinotage and Shiraz component was matured in 225-litre French oak barrels for 12 months.
