This intense purple Shiraz is a vibrant youthful wine with warm and rich spicy pepper aromas, hints of blackcurrant and a velvety soft texture. Sweetish on the palate, the wine has gentle hints of vanilla. Warm and inviting. Delicious with game and Cumberland sauce, ostrich and rare beef with Dijon mustard.

in the vineyard : The Shiraz grapes for this varietal red wine were picked from vineyards in the lower lying area of the farm where the warmer temperatures promoted good, even ripening of the grapes. The stoney, clay soils of the vineyards restrain the naturally vigorous growth of the Shiraz vines to direct their energy to the berries and concentrate their varietal flavours.

in the cellar : The wine was fermented in traditional red wine fermentors on the skins for 10 days to extract maximum colour. Thereafter, it was racked from the lees into new 300 and 500 litre barrels of French oak, where it remained for 10 months. Malolactic fermentation occured in the barrels.
