Stellenrust Stellenbosch Manor Chenin Blanc 2021

Typified by ripeness and richness, this is big and bold, with dollops of clotted cream. There's a tense line of lime zest and lemon under there somewhere. As well as some marmalade, apricot and stony, flinty notes. The zesty high acidity keeps this all tucked in.

The proud history of Stellenrust, founded by master stonemason and builder of the Castle of Good Hope, Douwe Steyn, is depicted in
the gabled manor house on the 1692 Stellenrust wine farm. Our legacy is captured behind the architecture established in the Cape winelands by this historical figure.

The Stellenbosch Manor range pays tribute to the rich history of some of Stellenbosch’s best known varieties, planted in the distant past, delivering wines of distinction and paving the way to South Africa’s future in wine. Varieties offered: Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage, Cinsault and blends. Old vine examples at top of its game with multiple interna- tional awards across the range

in the cellar : Fermented and aged for seven months in 225-litre French oak barrels, there's a lot of creamy oak influence here, creating an immediate and heady impression of vanilla-coated almonds, peaches, and custard.
