Teardrop is a female African wild dog who was part of a pack at Tswalu in the Kalahari. She moved into an adjacent property where the landowner then shot her. Though she suffered serious injury, her spirit was huge, and the veterinary team at the reserve managed to rehabilitate her over a six-month period. She was moved to Gorongosa Game Reserve in Mozambique, where Painted Wolves have been successfully reintroduced after a 25-year absence

in the vineyard : Viognier grapes were sourced from a single mountain side block in the Breedekloof. The site is north -west facing, which brings a large amount of sunlight, resulting in bright intense flavours. It is one of the highest sites for Viognier in the Cape at around 600 metres above sea level. Yields are naturally low at around six tonnes per hectare

in the cellar : The grapes were whole-bunch pressed and fermented in a clay amphora egg and 2 x 500-liter old barrels and 2 x 300-litre 2 nd fill barrels. The ferment started with wild yeast.

Total production 2,603 bottles.
