Colour: Deep ruby with a youthful purple rim, indicating a bright freshness.
Nose: Fruit-forward with vibrant notes of blackcurrant, ripe plum and brambleberries. Undertones of violet and mint.
Palate: Medium-bodied with polished tannins. Juicy, ripe dark fruits carry over from the nose.

Pairs well with grilled meats, tomato-based pasta, or even a charcuterie board.

in the vineyard : The grapes were hand-harvested from our vineyards in the Wellington region. These different vineyards are planted in granite soils in the Bovlei, and schist soils near Hermon, which give the wine a fruit-driven style from the former, and a finely structured elegance from the latter.

in the cellar : Grapes are hand-harvested and de-stemmed before fermentation. For the extraction of colour, pump-overs and punch downs were executed during fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Before alcoholic fermentation is complete, the must is pressed to ensure that the tannin expression is fine and subtle. A portion of the wine is matured in French oak for 4 months.
