Bellingham The Maverick Viognier 2002

Colour: Rich straw with a green hue.
Nose: Upfront, bold and aromatic with a melange of litchi, peach and spice aromas.
Palate: All the aromas are carried through to the rich, full palate which has a hint of sweetness and good acid to finish. The flavours linger invitingly on the aftertaste. Overall a robust, ample-bodied wine, brimming with spice, peach, litchi and tropical fruit flavours, remarkable aromatics and a generous mouthfeel.

about the harvest: The grapes were hand-picked from a five-year-old vineyard, in the Paardeberg area. They were picked at optimum ripeness.

in the cellar : The grapes were fermented, using the natural yeast on the berries. The wine was left in French oak barrels for a further seven months before bottling.
