Bouquet: Aromas of cherries, blackberry with a hint of cedar.
Taste: Full–bodied with cherries and blackberries on entry and subtle wood flavours in the background dominated by cedar and mocha.

Enjoy on its own or with herb-crusted lamb roasts, game fish, mild cheeses, stuffed poultry and barbecues.

AWARDS
Named after the flamboyant Marthinus Laurentius Neethling (1825 - 1913), who was born on the Estate and who earned himself the nickname, the “Lord of Neethlingshof”, this is a wine with intensity and fullness, balanced by elegance.
in the vineyard : The vineyards (viticulturist: Eben Archer)
Planted between 1987 and 1991 the north-west facing vineyards grows 115m above sea level on decomposed granite and Table Mountain sandstone soils. The vines are grafted onto nematode-resistant Richter 99 and 110 rootstocks and trellised on a five-wire vertical fence system.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested by hand at 25° Balling in March.
