Rooiberg Pinotage 1998

Rooiberg Pinotage has na attractive deep colour and the typical full-flavoured style of rich Pinotage. It has lots of complex cultivar character, mingling well with good woodiness. If consumed young the fruity Pinotage bouquet can be fuly appreciated, but it will develop a wide full flavour with further ageing.

The grape from the semi-dessert area Eilandia, was picked at 21ºB, went into a roto-tank, and fermented dry. The wine went through Malo-Lactic and spent one year in French Allier barrels. High alcohol due to very hot and dry 1994 vintage.
