in the vineyard : Area of Origin: A selection of red grape varieties; Malbec from Franschhoek and Sangiovese, Pinot Noir and Merlot from Roberson

Vineyard: All vineyards are trellised and at least 10 years old and planted on table mountain sandstone in Franschhoek and on deep well drained red clay/lime soil, in Robertson.

about the harvest: Grapes were harvested by hand in the second and third week of February.

in the cellar : Cellar Treatment: The grapes were destemmed and left to cold macerate on the skins for between 6 hours and 12 hours, in horizontal stainless steel tanks at 10°C. After this short maceration the grapes were pressed and fermented separately, at a cool 13° - 15°C to ensure a fresh primary fruit bouquet and light pink colour.
