Klein Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc 2017

This light Sauvignon Blanc is a zesty, flirty and fresh wine reminiscent of fruity citrus sorbet. On the nose, tropical flavours of guava, white peach, pineapple, kiwi and passion fruit appear next to fresh green herbs. The tart fruitiness on the palate evolves into a delicious sherbet texture that is supported by the racy, zesty acidity - a characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc.

This wine is ready to serve as a sundowner with good friends, as an aperitif or paired with seafood, light pastas or tomato based dishes.

ageing : The wine is best enjoyed in its youth.

This wine consistently yields a light but fresh style of Sauvignon Blanc.

in the vineyard : This wine consistently yields a light, but fresh style of Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sourced from Constantia, Durbanville, Stellenbosch and Robertson. The grapes were specifically chosen to showcase both the fresh and green characteristics brought on by the cool-climate sites as well as the more tropical fruits caused by more hours of sunshine.

in the cellar : The components were fermented separately in stainless steel at cold temperatures (11° - 13° C) in order to retain fruit purity and fresh flavours. A short time on the lees adds some richness with the end result being a wonderfully aromatic wine with great body and a lingering aftertaste - perfect for everyday drinking.
