Riebeek Pinotage 2001

Sparkling ruby red with a purple rim, typical of young Pinotage flavours complex plum and fruitcake well integrated with softwood with a lingering aftertaste. An ideal accompaniment to lunchtime barbecues and rare beef.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested early in February at 26° Balling.
Production: 10 ton per hectare.

in the cellar : Fermented on skins until enough flavour and colour were extracted to obtain more complexity and integration, malolactic fermentation was completed on chips. After extended contact wine was racked, filtered and bottled.
