Drostdy Hof Merlot 1999

On the nose the wine displays delightful, youthful aromas of cherries, raspberry and stewed fruit. A touch of vanilla contribute to the complexity of the wine. On the palate it is medium-bodied with berry flavoura and a touch of vanilla. The tannins are soft and the wine has a fruity finish.

in the vineyard : The grapes came from vineyards in the coastal region.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested between 22 and 23ÂºBalling during February.

in the cellar : In the cellar the juice fermented on the skins for 5 days. It was pressed and fermentation was completed without the skins. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in wood for 12 months - 15% in New French oak, 35% in second-fill and 50% in third-fill casks.
