L Avenir Cabernet Sauvignon 2000

Deep ruby colour. Complex nose of cedarwood, spicy ciagrbox and stewed prunes. The palate is filled with flavours of blackcurrant, black cherry and hints of chocolate with firm ripe tannins. A big wine with an exceptionally long aftertaste.

The Merlot was harvested on the 8th of February at 24.5º Balling and the Cabernet Sauvignon between the 16th and 24th of February at 25º Balling.

in the cellar : Matured in 225 litre French-oak barrels for 18 months, with 33% in new barrels. The balance was in 2nd and 3rd fill barrels. Received an egg-white fining at 12 months and was blended with approximately 9% Merlot prior to bottling.
