The dark rich ruby colour of the wine is typical of this variety and the complex nose full of black cherries, mulberries and spice draws you in. These flavours carry through on to the palate which finishes with a luxuriously soft and subtle feel to it. 40% first fill, 18 months in french oak.
Ideal with oxtail, lamb, beef, chicken, casseroles and venison.
