in the vineyard : "The Old Road" Vineyard planted in 1971 on our Franschhoek estate beneath the mountain on deep well drained gravel loam soils, producing 4 tonnes per hectare.

about the harvest: Handpicked in February 2006.

in the cellar : Fermented in open fermenters with 3 - 4 punch downs per day. Barrel matured in 30% new and 70% 2nd and 3rd fill French and American Oak barrels for 12 months.
