Groot Constantia Chardonnay 1997

The blend of wooded wine resulted in the fruity, complex wine with subtle wood and toast flavours. The wine shows typical colour of wood maturation, but is a definite move away from the older style of over wooded Chardonnay with no fruit to back it.

in the cellar : It is 85% tank fermented and 15% wood fermented and then kept on the lees for eight months. Malolactic fermentation in wood - 15%. The wine should be enjoyed young, with or without food.
