Groot Constantia Gouverneurs Reserve 1996

The flagship of the estate. It is made from the classic Bordeaux varieties. A Cabernet Sauvignon (62%) blended with Cabernet Franc (19%) and Merlot (19%). However this need not also be the case. The estate’s objective is to use the very best of the red varieties in a particular vintage for the Gouverneurs Reserve. It is an elegant wine with a berry nose and complexity of flavor well interwoven with wood character, with a mixture of nutty, peppery and fruit flavors.
