Overgaauw Merlot 2001

John Platter - 4½ stars
Overgaauw Merlot was the first wine of this variety bottled in South Africa.

A deep red, soft structured wine with full cherry/raspberry aromas and a touch of mint. Cabernet Sauvignon was blended to the Merlot to give a warmer palate. With bottle maturation, its velvety character will improve even further.
